The 2020 HELP Network Conference of the Council of Europe which for the first time taking place fully online, on 8-9 July (Wednesday and Thursday)

The Human Rights Education for Legal Professionals (HELP) Conference will focus on the 70 years of the European Convention on Human Rights and the most relevant HELP courses in critical times (included the new ones). Under normal circumstances, the HELP Annual Conference gathers representatives of your National Training Institutions for judges/prosecutors and Bar Councils but, since this year the Conference will be online, we thought it would be a perfect opportunity to invite you all.

The Council of Europe HELP courses are in high demand, and during the recent weeks, many presential launches of courses have been fully replaced by fully online ones in collaboration with many of your National Training Institutions for judges/prosecutors and Bar Councils. The current number of users of the HELP e-learning platform is around 66,000 (from 45,600 users in March 2020).

This is the webpage of the conference: https://www.coe.int/en/web/help/conference-2020 where we will be periodically updating the agenda and other details, including the direct and simple link to connect to the online conference on 8 and 9 July. Please note that the conference will be mainly hold in English with simultaneous interpretation into French and Russian.

Please note that the Conference will include a keynote speech by the new President of the European Court of Human Rights, Judge Spano, on Thursday 9 July at 9.30 CET.

Some of the HELP courses to be presented: Bioethics, Medicrime (counterfeiting of medical products and medicines), Freedom of Expression, Protection of Journalists, Environment and human rights and Migration-related courses. Many other HELP courses (covering both the Council of Europe and EU legal orders and many contextualised to your countries laws and context) are available at the HELP e-learning platform at help.elearning.ext.coe.int
