The Journal of World Intellectual Property (Wiley) has published an article by Dr Ramil Gachayev entitled “Primal intellectual property rights: re-envisioning modern paradigms through a protodesmic perspective.”
The article examines the origins of intellectual property beyond statutes and market rationales. Drawing on legal pluralism and historical and ethnographic sources, it explores the bond between creators and their works recognised in early societies, and considers its relevance to present-day debates on traditional knowledge.
