European day of Justice in Azerbaijan

Type of event : Rendering free legal aid for low-income families residing in Ganja city and neighbouring regions

Description of the event : Every year, on October 25 “European day of justice” is celebrated in all European countries. By the decision of Council of Europe and European Commission in 2003, every year during October low-income people and lower level of legal awareness are provided with the free legal aid by lawyers.

Taking into account the importance of the “European Day of Justice”, as well as the Presidential Order on Additional measures for the improvement of lawyer profession dated on 22.02.2018, - recommendation to arrange free legal services for the needy people in legal advice, Azerbaijani Bar Association is holding series of events within the framework of the “European Day of Justice”.

In connection with these measures, Law Office No. 1 of Ganja City has provided legal aid to low-income persons on October 20. As part of the legal aid provided to those people, along with verbal legal advice, preparation of written applications to various public bodies and other free legal services were provided.

Law Offices of the Azerbaijani Bar Association regularly conducts similar activities in other regions, and the Bar Association will further ensure the continuity of these measures.
