Lawyer /Legal Counsel

Baku city

Work schedule: 5/2 days a week

Salary: Determined after the interview

MISSION OF POSITION:

legal support, judicial representative. To assist the Management in all legal matters and is in charge of all corporate matters

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

Support local management, finance, HRD in all legal matters;
Support corporate legal counsel in all local matters;
Ensure all legal relations’ issues are tackled at the appropriate level and time, protecting and promoting the company's interests;
Ensure that officials of the company comply with SGS Code of Integrity;
Preparation of templates of contracts and similar documents, concluded between SGS and Customers or Suppliers;
Check contracts and similar documents, concluded between SGS and Customers or Suppliers, for compliance with Azerbaijan legislation and SGS internal rules (in legal issues).
Preparation of powers of attorney and/or orders on behalf of SGS or their check;
Internal audit of departments for corporate legal compliance and SGS rules;
Assist management in claims handling, reporting and investigations;
Creating and keeping of records and minutes of board meetings;
Maintain and update company registration in state structures
Work on claims
Presentation of the Company's interests in arbitration courts and courts of general jurisdiction (in all instances);
Presentation of the Company's interests in state structure;
Support in preparation of tender documents;
In general, ensure that the company and its officials comply with current legislation and internal SGS rules.

EDUCATION:

Higher education- University Diploma, LLM from Western University is preferred; legal trainings are plus;

MAIN EXPERTISE: work on claims, legal support, knowledge of tax, labour, administrative codes.

WORK EXPERIENCE: 10+ exp as Lawyer, Legal Counsel

SPECIFIC / ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: experience in arbitration, legal proceedings and court/judicial representation

Ability to work on his own

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Russian, Azerbaijani languages – must, English language – fluent (written, oral)

PC SKILLS: Proficiency in Ms Office programs, Internet
